Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2018-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2016

The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu has a Zen-like, cold slate and Alpine stream scented bouquet that is well defined, but perhaps the most uncompromising of all William Fevre's 2014s. The palate is very well balanced with a slightly herbaceous/grassy edge on the entry, verging on fresh asparagus. There is a pleasant reduction here, slightly disjointed compared to other 2014s; it will benefit from 2-3 years in bottle to really gain cohesion. But the spiciness on the aftertaste is very promising.

Pale, bright yellow. Spicy aromas of white flowers, menthol and white pepper. Tactile, dusty, fresh and tightly wound; showing more spice character than fruit today. Most impressive now on the slowly rising, saline, very subtle finish. Classically dry and precise for this cuvée and very long on the aftertaste.
