The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres has great typicity on the nose with lovely dried honey and candle wax scents wafting from the glass. The palate is rounded and ripe on the entry. This is a voluminous Genevrieres that perhaps just lacks a little precision and tension on the finish. Still, it is packed full of flavor and has a lovely caressing texture. Meursault is currently burgeoning with new young vignerons carving a name for themselves and Arnaud Tessier is one of them. Accompanied by his wife Catherine, I tasted three very commendable examples of the 2012. Importer: no US importer but available through Flint Wines in the UK (www.flintwines.com)

More stony than the Poruzot Dessus. Tighter and more dense on the palate. Juicy, firm and complete with an attractive chalky finish. (JH)
