Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2016-2024, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2016

The 2014 Chablis 1Er Cru Fourchaume has a rather broody nose, backward at the moment, with touches of grass clipping and freshly tilled earth infusing the citrus fruit. The palate is balanced with good depth on the entry, but I am seeking a little more nervosité and tension here vis Fevre's other 2014s/ This seems to just saunter past the finish line. Not bad, but not the best from the domaine this year.

(Fèvre buys grapes and must): Pale yellow with a green tinge. Rather exotic aromas of ripe peach and lichee. Fat and glyceral in the mouth, in a distinctly tender style and less minerally than most of the other 2014 premier crus here. Very concentrated but this broad, lower-acid wine may be best suited for those who find most Chablis too bracing.
