Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2019-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2017

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, the 2014 Meursault 1er Cru les Genevrières from Domaine Michel Bouzereau has a backward and yet detailed bouquet with hazelnut and fumé aromas, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, commendable terroir expression and a detailed, mineral-driven finish with walnut and orange rind furnishing the aftertaste. This is a pretty Meursault with one eye on commercial appeal, and it is clearly thoughtfully crafted (though it is not as intellectual as the Genevrières from Comtes-Lafon tasted alongside).

Orange zest and a positive balsamic hint on the aromatic nose. Sweet and plush but dry; this delivers the pliancy of a sunny vintage on entry, then turns more lemony and minerally on the back half. The finish boasts excellent texture and stony grip, calling for patience. The crop level was just 30 hectoliters per hectare, as there was more hail here than in Perrières.
