2012 Volnay Clos des Chenes

30% new oak (his maximum). Two equal parcels: planted 1938 and 2000. Dark ruby. Rich, 'chestnutty' nose with real depth and texture. Lots of matter here and a very bright take on it. Polished and lots of fruit in the middle but it is mainly the framework in evidence at the moment. Dry but not drying finish. Very true and concentrated. Very well-defined climats at this address.
