Verduno. Healthy, mid ruby with a bright orange rim. Hints of baking spice and stones, but otherwise a little locked up. Very slow to open up. Racy sweet-sour cherry and strawberry on the finish with hints of fruit cake. Firm, finely grained tannins. Perhaps a tiny bit hot, but with a spectacular finish. Quite powerful for Verduno. (WS)
