Bright pale gold. Rather strange oak on the nose. Correct fruit with a green streak but not the purest example, especially bearing in mind the price. (JR)

(20% new oak): Very pale yellow. Aromas of white peach, lime blossom and nutty oak. Sweet on entry, then quite firm in the middle, with the wine's density nicely leavened by acidity. The saline finish shows a slight lemony tartness as well as a touch of phenolics, with the oak showing.
The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Santenots was impacted by the hail, but what survived was picked on October 6 and resulted in five barrels. It has a clean and precise bouquet with lime flower and frangipane scents that are well defined. The palate is balanced, but seems simple compared to the 2012 last year, and it is missing some terroir expression on the monochromatic finish.
