Bottled in February, the 2014 Roero Arneis offers a fresh bouquet of cut flowers, yellow fruit, pear and Golden Delicious apple. Bruna Giacosa tells me that 2014 was a good year in terms of aromas, but a weaker vintage in terms of mouthfeel. In fact, the palate shows thin lines and lean consistency.

Barolo got twice the rainfall compared to Barbaresco. Specific pinpoint areas of Monforte d'Alba and La Morra lost up to 80% of their crop to the soggy conditions.
