La Togata's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is very pretty. Bright red stone fruit, tobacco, cedar and floral notes all jump from the glass in a fresh, vibrant Brunello loaded with energy. Deep, pliant and savory, the 2010 impresses for its nuance, complexity and pure deliciousness. The 2010 can be enjoyed today for its primary fruit, but it also has enough acidity and depth to age well for another 15-20 years. This is quite possibly the best wine I have ever tasted from La Togata.

La Togata has always made solid wines that in 2010 seem better than ever. The estate is located next to the castle of Argiano in Montalcino’s southern sector and wines are always made in an opulent, rich, round style, though never over the top, with a creamy yet precises mouthfeel that is extremely impressive and very Sangiovese. This 2010 is the best wine La Togata has ever made.
