Note di degustazione
(the first parcel harvested by Jadot in 2013): Bright, pale yellow-gold. Pure, restrained aromas of orange zest, spices, wild herbs and minerals, lifted by a high-pitched floral nuance. Supple, sweet and spicy on the palate, conveying a fine-grained texture to its orange zest and spicy oak flavors. With a crop level of just 25 hectoliters per hectare, this wine has the concentration to support its barrel treatment.

The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru les Genevrieres, has a more compelling bouquet, vis-a-vis the Charmes '13, with citrus peel, fresh mint and mineral scents all vying for attention. There is certainly good vigor here. The palate is well balanced with a fine citric thread - great tension and focus, with a gradual build to a lemongrass and shaved-ginger-infused finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. This is a very commendable Genevrieres that may deserve a higher score once in bottle.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
