Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2019-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2015

The 2012 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru explodes from the glass with intense blueberry, blackberry and orange zest aromas that display intent and purpose. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripe blueberry and blackberry fruit, hints of cassis and almost a bubblegum-like vivacity on the confit finish. This is still so primal, but it has the vigor and the concentration to merit long-term aging. It represents a great success for the domaine.

Deep bright red. Superripe but rather brooding aromas of black cherry, spices and minerals; much less expressive today than the Clos Vougeot. Then dense and tactile in the mouth, showing superb spicy definition for its sheer size. This seriously rich, deep Corton boasts powerful tannic structure and outstanding palate-saturating length.

(13.3% natural alcohol with a relatively high 3.7 pH, from vines picked first, on September 19; aging in 100% new oak): Good bright, full red. Very ripe nose delivers sweet raspberry and sexy oak tones. Rich, lush, sweet and seamless; round and full, with sappy red berry flavors leading to sweet tannins. In the context of this collection, this wine tastes like it's from another vintage.

The 2012 Corton Clos Rognet is the most striking and vibrant of the three Cortons. Sweet tobacco, spices and new leather flesh out around a core of expressive dark fruit, adding to the wine's racy, gracious personality. Silky, impeccably polished tannins support a soft, supple finish graced with expressive floral overtones.
