Note di degustazione
La Gerla's 2009 Brunello di Montalcino stands out for its textured, refined personality. Sweet red cherries, tobacco, leather, spices and mint meld together in a gracious, supple Brunello. The flavors are already a bit forward. I wouldn't wait too long here.

The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino opens to a brooding dark color and doesn’t hold back in terms of aromatic intensity. It starts off with ripe fruit and forest berry then gradually evolves in the glass to make room for licorice, dried herbs and roasted almond. The wine makes a similar impact in the mouth thanks to the general sense of brightness and focus imparted by the fruit. The wine is pointed and pristine with a good level of focus. Drink: 2015-2022. Just mid ruby with orange rim. Spicy, lively nose with hints of creamy oak and bacon. Exotic. Palate is very ripe and almost a little jammy and creamy but there is acidity to keep it together. Drink now. (WS)
