Strongly tertiary aromas with notes of compost and gaminess. Pure, ripe and fresh – delicious served cool. I'm looking forward to it with Clipstone takeaway tagliatelle with veal meatballs. The fruit is still more important than the acidity but it tastes as though that will not be the case for too much longer. (JR)

The 2013 Morellino di Scansano shows a thick layer of extraction with more bright berry and cherry-driven intensity. Fragrant notes of roasted espresso bean add extra intensity at the back. This is a soft and velvety red wine that offers simple appeal and informality. It would pair well with a long list of Italian or international foods.
A Morellino true to the original regulations (meaning: only indigenous grapes, while in 2007 the regulation changed to allow for the inclusion of international varieties). Proper Sangiovese nose with a top note of Moroccan leather. Flattering, supple and medium-bodied palate with rustic tannins. Wonderful daily quaffer. (WS)
The 2013 Morellino di Scansano is very pretty. Floral notes meld into expressive red stone fruits in a Morellino that impresses for its creamy texture and exquisite balance, especially at this level.
