Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru les Boucheres has a pleasant reduction on the nose, not to the extent that it occludes terroir, but certainly adopting the distinctive Coche-like style and just about getting away with it. The palate is slightly sour on the entry, however there is a keen line of acidity and the vibrant spicy finish maintains fine delineation and imparts length. I would just like it to dispense with a slight bitterness right on the finish. Tasted May 2016.

(this finished its malolactic in tank): Reduced, wild aromas of musky lime and peach. Energetic flavors of lime and menthol complicated by a leesy nuance and supported by stony minerality. Conveys an early-picked quality, which is a good thing for this premier cru. Plenty of extract here.
Lafon has just 7 ouvrées (0.0425 ha), bought with Roulot. Very fine and this side of austere. Not the longest but very well constituted and appetising. Very long. (JR)
Taken from tank, the 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Bouchere was difficult to assess because, as Dominique mentioned, it had just finished its malo (and indeed, he may not rack it back into barrel and opt to bottle it directly from tank.) The palate seemed to show good depth of fruit and fine acidity, so this should be worth checking out once in bottle. Dec 2014, www.robertparker.com
