This wine was tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chablis 1Er Cru Beauroy has a pear and bruised apple-scented bouquet that does not quite have the vigor of their Côte de Léchet. The palate is crisp on the entry that feels a little shrill, notes of sour lemon and orange zest, leading to a nicely poised finish. This is very fine.

Tense and restrained. Still quite youthful and hard work but I’m sure it will get there. (JR)
Pale, bright yellow. Dusty lemon zest, ginger, lavender and acacia flower on the nose, complemented by a sexy leesy quality. Round, smooth, spicy and rich but still a bit youthfully unforthcoming; less expressive today than the Cote de Lechet but has more weight and palate presence. Shows an intriguing saline umami character. The rich, long, salty finish boasts sneaky grip and a racy citric character. This wine exploded with 24 hours in the recorked bottle.
Brilliantly forthright fruit with a tremendous chalkiness and intensity. Smooth, rounded and bursting with juicy green fruit. (RH)
