Transparent crimson. Something reminiscent of pencil shavings and slightly inky but very energetic too. At the moment this limpid wine is a little simple but it seems to have all the ingredients for exciting development. Bitter morello-cherry fruit. Very impressive finish. Wonderful layers. (JR)

A somber and brooding nose of distinctly earthy red and dark berry fruit aromas is trimmed in enough wood to notice but not enough to dominate them. The ripe and round large-scaled flavors possess excellent volume and punch before culminating in a seductively textured finish that offers fine depth and length if not necessarily great refinement.
