2004 Beaune Clos des Mouches

Deep red-ruby color. Pure aromas of medicinal cherry, licorice and leather. Creamy and sweet but nicely framed by ripe acidity. Finishes with substantial, slightly dry-edged oak tannins. Laurent says this one need an entire year to digest its oak component, but I think it still needs a bit more digesting.
