Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2009-2019, David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

Mikulski’s 2007 Meursault Genevrieres – from a plot near to Poruzots, with limestone strata (based a set of core samples) especially favorable to root penetration – illustrates the high vintage batting average of this cru. Aromas of honeysuckle and hyacinth flatter the nose; luscious honeydew melon and lime exhibit admirable transparency to a wealth of saline, chalky, alkaline, and iodine mineral nuances; and this finishes with the grip and invigoration (including from white pepper and fresh ginger) that typify this year’s Mikulski collection. Expect it to be worth following for a decade. Incidentally, tasted alongside, the 2004 has thus far held up very well, but is not in the same league. Francois Mikulski began picking his 2007s the August 31 and harvest lasted a full two weeks. He performed “a bit more severe settling than normal” of solid matter to insure healthy musts, and while the vinous results are sometimes a bit texturally spare, as a group these wines boast consistently impressive distinctiveness of personality, energy, refreshment, and grip.
