Note di degustazione
The estate’s second wine, the 2004 Bahans-Haut-Brion, possesses a similar character, but is lighter and softer than the Haut Brion, with notes of red and black currants, plum, and earth. Consume it over the next decade.

Bright red-ruby. Ripe, enticing aromas and flavors of plum, smoked meat and underbrush. Pure and focused in the mouth, with a firm mineral spine contributing to the impression of tightness. Finishes with solid tannins that are a bit dominant today.
(tasted from cuve Good full ruby-red. Explosive aromas of smoky raspberry, tobacco and minerals. Supple, fleshy and sweet, if without the concentration and power of the 2005. But this is seamless, elegant and impeccably balanced, and finishes with gentle, fine-grained tannins.
Good bright ruby. Musky, reduced aromas of cherry, espresso and game. Suave and sweet, with a flavor of dark chocolate truffle. Distinctly wild today, but there's plenty of fruit lurking. Finishes with building tannins.
