The now defunct second wine of Ch Haut-Brion. A bit sweet and tarty on the nose. Then acid but nothing to bind them together. More cellar than vineyard. (JR)

A dark ruby color is followed by earthy, smoky, cherry, mulberry, and currant aromas in this light to medium-bodied Bahans. Slightly spicy and austere, with a clean, pure finish, it should be consumed over the next 4-5 years.

Bright medium ruby. Smoky aromas of black raspberry and roasted meat. Then tightly wound and fruity, with juicy black cherry and mineral flavors. A somewhat inky Bahans of moderate sweetness and concentration. Finishes with firm, dusty, slightly tough tannins.
