Note di degustazione
Relatively pale and mature-looking. A little grassy on the nose and a bit tired and rustic on the palate. Perfectly sound for current drinking but it will set no-one alight. Very Graves and lightish. Good balance. (JR)

Mid-crimson with a ruby rim. Quite pale, very fragrant. Lovely delicacy. ?? floral, some acid. (JR)
Always one of Bordeaux’s finest second wines, the 2001 Bahans-Haut-Brion exhibits a dark plum/ruby color as well as a sweet nose of cedar, earth, and red and black currants. Medium-bodied, with a supple texture, fine purity, and admirable length, it will drink well for 5-8 years.
Purplish rim on black/crimson. Reticent now and then opens out to some sandpapery oak. Very dense. Quite a different style from La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion: denser, stricter, tighter – much more an expression of the vintage. Tough, inky finish. Very dry and a bit hollow. (JR)
