Note di degustazione
The 2011 Il Bruciato explodes from the glass with huge black fruit, tar, mocha, espresso, smoke and scorched earth. Sweet floral and spice notes add an element of brightness over time, but this remains a big, juicy wine with tons of near-term appeal. This is another hugely overachieving wine from Antinori. Readers who want to understand the shear appeal of Maremma without spending a fortunate should start with the 2011 Il Bruciato, a wine that delivers tons of regional character for a very reasonable price in today's market. Il Bruciato is a Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot, Cabernet Franc/Syrah blend.

The 2011 Bolgheri Rosso Il Bruciato (65% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Syrah) is a lovely wine with just enough cheerful informality to pair with hearty potato gnocchi with melted butter and fresh sage. The proverbial food-friendly Italian red, Il Bruciato offers balanced acidity, thick concentration and hearty black fruit flavors. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. Renzo Cotarella and the Antinori family have certainly hit their stride here at Guado al Tasso. They oversee a finely oiled machine that has happily shown consistently excellent results going on ten years now. Importer: Ste. Michele Wine Estates; www.ste-michelle.com
