Medium red. Wild, musky aromas of smoke, leather and tobacco, with red fruits in the deep background. Then surprisingly tight and chewy in the mouth, in a distinctly masculine style, with berry and spice flavors currently cut off by substantial dusty tannins. Good intensity and energy here but a touch rustic.

Good dark red. Dark fruits, licorice and crushed stone on the nose and palate, plus a whiff of ginger. Juicy and energetic, with good shape and grip to the spicy middle palate. A tad dry on the end but nicely sappy.
Attractive scent and very positive. Grunty and grainy. Masses of fruit inside the corset. Clean finish. Nothing ethereal. Big and bold. Racked and in stainless steel now. (JR)
