Our flight of 1978s was superb. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s 1978 Echézeaux showed its characteristic spiced bouquet along with notes of red fruits and autumn leaves. It was fully mature and delicious.
Lovely mature colour beautifully shaded out to the rim. Truffles and mushrooms – at first even a TCA-like hint – and then great richness underneath even if a tiny bit of decay and decadence on the nose. Cleaned up in the glass. Lovely fully mature red burgundy although relatively light for a DRC wine. (JR)

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, o semplicemente "DRC", è senza dubbio la tenuta più famosa della Borgogna e uno dei produttori più rinomati al mondo. Il vigneto Grand Cru da cui prende il nome produce il vino più costoso al mondo, di gran lunga.
