Note di degustazione
The 2006 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru was showing even better than it did when I last encountered it just over a year ago, exhibiting aromas of red berries, cassis, dark chocolate, black truffles and smoked meats that are deeper-pitched and more brooding than I remembered them. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a fleshy and multidimensional core of fruit that's ample and enveloping, framed by refined tannins.

Deeper and somewhat more concentrated than the 2007, the 2006 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru offers up a more reserved bouquet of pure red fruits, coniferous forest floor and subtle notions of grilled ceps. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with a deep, layered core and lovely balance. It's a superb Corton-Renardes that impresses more for its elegance than its power.
Informazioni sul produttore

Domaine Michel Gaunoux is today run by Michel’s grandchildren, Anne and Alexandre, with a guiding hand from their mother. Everything here is extremely traditional, and the family has been quietly making rich, complex and age-worthy Pommard and Corton for over half a century.
