Decanted. This full-bodied, full-throttle almondy white burgundy managed to stand up to pickled ginger and Thai king prawn salad. (JR)

Brilliant and ultra fine aromas of green apples and limestone lead to almost Chablis-like intensity and razor-sharp, incredibly delineated, chiseled flavors that offer superb texture and an almost chewy finish. This is quite different from many examples of 2002 Corton-Charlemagne as this more of a world class gymnast than a weight lifter as it's sleek, silky and taut plus the delineation is like a hot knife through butter. In short, this is reference standard Corton-Charlemagne and highly recommended.
The 2002 Corton-Charlemagne, revisited from bottle, sports a spicy, apple-scented nose and a long, light to medium-bodied personality. Well-focused and revealing a deep minerality, spice-laced pears, and white pepper, this elegant wine is complex, seamless, and possesses a beautifully extended finish. Projected maturity: 2007-2015. Very pale. Very ripe and slightly sulphur –muted. Sweet and round with some good acidity. A Meursault like and very well made. (JR)
