Punteggio 89/100 · Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2013

There is an earthy note to the 1999 Corton-Charlemagne with orange blossom, a touch of quince and orange peel - perhaps a little more forward than I would expect for a 1999. There is a slight oxidative nose on the entry. This does not represent a complex Corton-Charlemagne in the scheme of things, but it offers a pleasant herbaceous finish that is both fresh and vibrant. Tasted December 2012.

Intense green apple and mineral aromas that merge seamlessly into somewhat austere, very defined and precise flavors packing a real punch, which continue into the extended finish. This is not a heavy weight but the flavors are firm, vibrant, muscular, chiseled and beautifully framed by pronounced and ripe acidity. This is Corton-Charlemagne as it should be but so rarely is. Quite reserved at this point and will require the better part of a decade to reveal its full potential. Beautiful wine worthy of its grand cru status. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Oct01,2002.

The perfumed aromas of the 1999 Corton-Charlemagne lead to a medium-bodied, lush personality. It is appealing yet austere, exhibiting fresh, crystalline, mineral, and quartz-like flavors. It is extremely well-balanced, fresh, lively, and possesses a pure, crisp finish. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2010. Pierre Rovani, Wine Advocate # 133, Feb 2001

Subtly complex, precise aromas of apple, pear, minerals, mace and nutmeg. Gripping, vibrant and dense, with compelling vinosity and strong acidity. Offers captivating inner-mouth perfume of white flowers. Almost tannic on the back end, but has the sheer buffering material to stand up to the powerful structure and acids. A brilliant wine, finishing with a wonderfully tactile quality and superb length and grip.
