Note di degustazione
(bottled in March) Bright yellow. Exotic aromas of tropical fruits, apricot, mirabelle and truffle; I might have guessed California. Then fat, sweet and exotic on the palate, with a somewhat aggressive, almost liqueur-like quality to the tropical fruit and truffle flavors. Finishes rather dry and a bit aggressive. Where is the lift and stoniness, not to mention the definition, of this cru? Gublin told me that this wine finished its malo very early, in January of 2009, which she said was very unusual. I wonder if it was bottled too late. A bit of a cipher.

(from grapes picked on October 8) Hazy appearance. Musky aromas of white truffle and crushed stone. Supple and wild, conveying an impression of richness and power but less minerality than the 2007. This rich, full wine, which comes from an east-facing plot high on the hillside, does not appear to be a particularly austere style of this grand cru.
