Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2015-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2014

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2011 from Olivier Leflaive might well be the single wine that shocked everyone by its class. It certainly has the most nuanced and well-defined bouquet of the flight, positively exuding minerality with touches of greengage and citrus peel coming through. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, good tension and focus with a touch of spice and sea-salt lining the composed and persistent finish. Impressive. Very impressive.

A very restrained nose only reluctantly reveals its cache of green fruit, apple, wet stone and citrus nuances. There is excellent size, weight and intensity to the mineral-driven and markedly saline flavors that culminate in a vibrant, clean and lingering finish that is somewhat oddly a bit one-dimensional. The underlying material seems to be very solid and my range offers the benefit of the doubt that this will become notably better than it is showing today. Tasted: Jun 11, 2013. Drink: 2018+
