Deep gold. Refreshing nose then marked mealiness on the palate. Not massive follow-through but creditable expression of the climat . Certainly much, much fresher than the 1996. Slightly fossilised; I can’t quite see how it will evolve further but it’s an attempt at richness and purity. (JR)
