Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2000-2030, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Aug 2022

The 1990 Meyney is still drinking very well, exhibiting an impressively vibrant ruby-black hue, followed by attractive aromas of cherries, red berries, pipe tobacco, pencil shavings and hints of soil. Medium to full-bodied, with a rich core of fruit, tangy acids and powdery tannins that still assert themselves on the finish, it's an old-school Saint-Estèphe that still has plenty of life ahead of it.

Beginning to be slightly attenuated and austere, the 1990 reveals hints of sweet black currant fruit, but it is disjointed and slightly flaccid. Drink it up. Wow! What an inexpensive winner. Release price: ($135.00/case) Jun 2009, www.robertparker.com

Deep, saturated, healthy red. Blackcurrant and herbs on the nose; along with the other Cordier wines, this seems distinctly less horsey than in past years. Sweet entry, then good concentration and acidity and strong blackcurrant flavor has the solid structure displayed by so many northern Médocs of this vintage. Moderately tannic finish is not as tough as some recent vintages of this wine.
