2010 Trinoro

Cabernet-dominant Bordeaux blend. Dark crimson. Much more comfortable and subtle on the nose than the Palazzi Merlot wine. Pretty gorgeous. But look at that alcohol! I'd be scared of drinking too much of this. It's stronger than many Amarones. (JR)

Bright crimson. Sweet start. Seems less tense than the Palazzi in a way. Round and mellow already. More than a puff of firework smoke. Exciting, very full and rich yet good intensity on the finish. (JR)

The 2010 Tenuta di Trinoro comes across as quite understated in this vintage. Dark cherries, plums, espresso and licorice are some of the nuances that take shape in the glass. Despite the mid-weight structure of the fruit, there is absolutely no sign of the 100% new oak barrels. It should drink well early. In 2010 the Tenuta is 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Petit Verdot. The wine spent just five months in oak prior to being prepared for bottling.
