An impressive, French barrique-aged blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot from the Greve region of Tuscany, this deep ruby/purple-colored 1997 boasts a provocative perfume of black currants, cherries, balsam wood, cedar, tobacco, and smoke. Although backward, it possesses powerful, concentrated flavors, moderately high tannin levels, good acidity, and a style built for the long haul.
