Light, though youthful, colour. Something moss-like about the nose. Very full palate impact, with still-rasping tannins. Very, very chunky, but confident. Dry finish. (JR)

Aromas of red currants, dried herbs, tobacco, and wood emerge from this medium-bodied 1999. Plum, currant, and cherry fruit, soft acidity, and light tannin suggest consumption is warranted over the next 6-7 years.
Bright ruby-red. Black cherry, licorice and currant leaf on the inky nose. Juicy and on the lean side, with somewhat green, unyielding flavors. Lacks real pliancy and ripeness. Finishes with hard-edged but not overly tough tannins.
