Note di degustazione
The 1997 Grand-Puy-Ducasse is dark ruby-colored, with a sweet black fruit-scented nose intermixed with weedy scents, vanilla, and earth. The mid-palate is plump and round, but the wine displays an abrupt finish with a certain austerity and angularity. This offering requires more flesh and concentration to merit a higher score. Anticipated maturity: now-2010. (No tasting note was provided in Issue 128. We have instead included the text of the tasting note from Issue 122)

Informazioni sul produttore

The 40 hectares of this Pauillac Fifth Growth are spread across three sites, pieced together in the 18th century by Pierre Ducasse. Today owned by France’s Crédit Agricole bank, they have some very fine vineyard land, with their northernmost plot neighbouring Mouton and Lafite.
