Note di degustazione
Good solid color, a ripe black currant, somewhat herbaceous bouquet, and round, generous flavors characterize the 1978 Grand-Puy-Ducasse. Quite precocious for the vintage, and showing very well at present, this is a wine to drink over the next 6-7 years. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 5/84.

The 40 hectares of this Pauillac Fifth Growth are spread across three sites, pieced together in the 18th century by Pierre Ducasse. Today owned by France’s Crédit Agricole bank, they have some very fine vineyard land, with their northernmost plot neighbouring Mouton and Lafite.
