Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2018-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2014

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Latricières-Chambertin 2011 has a natural, slightly tertiary bouquet with brambly red berry fruit that is well defined: masculine and reserved. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, fine acidity and a sweet core of cassis and black cherry fruit. It is compact at the moment, but will surely unfold over the next 3-4 years. Good substance here, if not quite the finesse at this precise moment.

Round and easy and beautifully judged. Very intense on the end but not too exaggerated on the palate entry, bravo! Admirably long. Transparent. .. lovely! (JR)

A very subtle hint of wood frames the particularly cool and ultra-restrained nose of brooding dark berry fruit, stone and humus. There is an impressive level of mouth coating dry extract that also buffers the very firm but fine tannins on the powerful, serious and imposingly intense flavors that possess outstanding length and a bit less youthful austerity than I typically find with this wine in its infancy. This is an old school example that is presently not particularly complex though perhaps more will develop in time. Tasted: Jan 15, 2014. Drink: 2021+
