Strongly struck match on the nose but great balance and integrity with just the right amount of fully ripe fruit to counterbalance the acidity. Not a tart wine at all, and almost unbelievable that it was simple village wine more than eight years old. Clean as a whistel and impressively youthful and vibrant. (JR)
