Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2016-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2016

The 2011 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur has a clean and precise bouquet, exhibiting more mineralité than the Vaudésir at the moment, perhaps greater delineation. The palate is fresh and steely with good depth, the oak component lending a scintilla of creaminess to the texture. The wine is harmonious with a gorgeous, saline, marine-influenced finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a classy Valour.

The 2011 Chablis Valmur wraps around the palate with serious depth. Layers of fruit blossom in the glass in a rich, broad-shouldered wine endowed with serious intensity. Almonds, hazelnuts, spices and floral-infused honey notes flow through to the radiant, inviting finish. This is a totally delicious wine from Droin, and easily one of the wines of the vintage.

Punteggio 93-95/100 · Da bere 2015, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2012

Whereas the Vaudesir shows a bit of tannin from the oak, the 2011 Chablis Valmur is rich, opulent and totally seamless from start to finish. It boasts stunning depth and integrity to match a full-bodied, voluptuous personality for Chablis. A soft, textured finish rounds things out beautifully.

As is the case with several of the wines in the range there is just enough wood to be noticeable which allows the refined aromas of sea breeze, petrol, white flower and pear to shine. There is lovely intensity to the muscular flavors that possess excellent concentration before terminating in a dry, overtly austere and well-detailed finish that offers even better length than the Vaudésir if not quite the same depth. These two wines offer a qualitative choice though they are very different. Tasted: Oct 15, 2013. Drink: 2021+
