Note di degustazione
Good fresh, dark red. Slightly reduced aromas of black cherry, licorice, leather and dried herbs; austere in a positive way. Then supple and pure but youthfully reticent, with good lift to its dark fruit and floral flavors. Not a thick style but has power. Broadens out nicely on the back end, finishing with rather fine tannins and lingering sweetness of fruit. Boasts a traditional Brunello structure but in a dark fruit way.

The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a serious, intense Brunello. Wild cherries, herbs, tobacco, spices and worn-in leather are some of the aromas and flavors that flow from this wiry, structured wine. ThIS shows plenty of length on the palate, although the tannins dry out a touch on the finish.

Deep concentrated ruby. Savoury, beef-stock opening. Very young and compact. Perfumed, sweet cherry underneath, powerful grainy tannin. Quite powerful, and alcoholic but with good potential. (WS)
