Despite the bottle age, the scented Pinot Noir-esque perfume notes are still so fresh and there in abundance matched again by earthy, ferric notes. The tannins have eased up, as you would expect, developing more mid-palate richness making the wine incredibly juicy. The tannins are still elastic and bring huge lift to the palate. It is a mesmerising wine. The 2004 vintage was a great year, albeit with moderate temperatures for Montalcino and this has matured beautifully. At almost 20 years of age, this is drinking so well now.

Soldera è uno dei vini più collezionati d'Italia. La cantina ha sede nella zona del Brunello di Montalcino, tuttavia la tenuta non è più etichettata come Brunello a seguito di una controversia con il consorzio. Prodotto con uve Sangiovese al 100%, il vino è attualmente imbottigliato come Toscana IGT
