2000 Barbera Conca Tre Pille

(this aged for 15 months in barriques, 30% new and 70% once-used) Good full red. Plum, redcurrant, tobacco and resiny oak on the nose. Sweet, lush and seamless, but also quite dry and vinous. The oak sweetens the fruit. Finishes with very fine tannins and good length. An elegant more than particularly powerful style of barbera.
