Extremely decadent, as always, with black truffles, black olives and berries on the nose. Full body, chewy and layered. Salty undertone. This is a wonderful wine forever. Historic profile. Gets better all the time. Drink now.
Ruby and quite evolved-looking. Rich start and yet finishes dry. Spicy and sweet fruited with a rather dusty finish. Less obvious flesh than the Conseillante 1982 served blind with it.
Sweet liquorice aroma with light spice and slight leather and undergrowth, getting more leathery quite quickly. Leaner and tighter on the palate than the nose suggested thanks to the marked – only just balanced – acidity. With time, more minty. (JH)
