Energy and vivacity on the nose here. And an undertow of real fruit density. Dry finish. Serious wine – still a little, but not worryingly, marked by the oak. (JR)

As one would expect this is more elegant and attractively fresh with a mix of various red berries, wet stone and moderate earth influence that also is reflected by the more mineral-driven broad-shouldered flavors that possess outstanding intensity. There is lovely balance to the lengthy finish and overall this is a highly appealing combination of power and finesse. Tasted: Jan 14, 2013. Drink: 2023+
