Dark berries and spices make up the nose of the 2003 Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers. A black cherry-dominated wine, it expands on the palate to reveal a suave, satin-textured character. This fruit-forward wine is lush, generous, and pleasing. Drink it over the next 5 years. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802
Palish medium red. Spicy red cherry, raspberry and an exotic note of orange peel on the nose. Sweet, supple and silky, with subtle red fruit and spice flavors. Round and harmonious. Finishes with smooth, nicely integrated tannins and very good spicy persistence. Like virtually all of the preceding samples, this should drink well early.
Mid red. Very, very sweet. Lots of charm. Easy, flattering, early drinker. Some spice and delicacy. Not the most serious. (JR)
