Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2019-2040, Jancis Robinson MW, Jan 2023

Full bottle 1,541 g. According to the back label, this was produced from 100-year-old vines grown on 2.15 ha of clay-sandy soil with a limestone and clinker subsoil. Vinification is in four stages starting with microvinification in their special 50-hl double-walled vats . Still quite youthful and very concentrated. I should probably have decanted this. And there is no hurry whatsoever to drink it. Fruit and tannin are in harmony for a rather glorious future. (JR)

Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2016-2028, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2018

Extremely deep, still-purplish crimson. Some evolution at the rim. Intense, pretty extracted for a 2007 but not too tannic. More backward than most 2007 red bordeaux. Spicy and impressive. Atypical of the vintage, (JR)

Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2012-2022, Jancis Robinson MW, Jul 2015

Blackish ruby. Not that much nose. Round, polished tannins and lots of depth, ripeness and concentration. Like the 2006, it has this char/inkiness quality and wonderful persistence. I would penalise this just for its lack of aroma. But again there is huge ambition. (JR)

A more serious effort, the 2007 La Fleur Morange (70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc) is one of the vintage’s top wines. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by notes of raspberries, incense, Christmas fruitcake, and spice box. Surprisingly full-bodied (13.5% alcohol) with good density and richness, this is a big yet velvety textured wine to drink over the next decade or more.
