Note di degustazione
The 2007 Sociando-Mallet is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc picked between September 21 and October 9. It has a light red berry and incense nose that perhaps does not possess the depth and complexity of the 2005 or 2010 tasted either side. The palate is medium-bodied with simple, slightly herbaceous black fruit, and the finish is hampered by a monotone personality. Drink now. Tasted at the vertical tasting at Sociando-Mallet.

Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2007 Bordeaux tasting. The 2007 Sociando-Mallet has a pleasing sense of mineralité and delineation on the nose: nicely focused with attractive rose petal scents. The palate is brisk on the entry with rigid tannin, quite savory with a gravelly, masculine and tobacco finish. It's a little rough around the edges, but it should drink well for the next 5-7 years. Tasted March 2015.
Flattering and round. Fluid and solid. Some evolution but not much charm. (JR)
