The 2000 Cepparello, all-Sangiovese, a dark garnet in color, is endowed with the full panoply of varietal aromas and flavors, currants and wild cherries, leather, tobacco, and game in a solid, medium-bodied format, well sustained and supported by the fine-grained tannins. Drink: 2005-2014. There are few men in Tuscan wine I admire more than Paolo De Marchi, for me the number one producer in the region for the variety and consistent high quality of his wines. Situata a nord di Castellina, sul versante occidentale del Chianti Classico, Isole e Olena, fondata dalla famiglia De Marchi negli anni ’50, è oggi uno dei nomi di riferimento della regione. Celebre per il suo Cepparello, Sangiovese in purezza, e per l’elegante Chardonnay.
