Silky smooth and supple, it has a savory core of red berry fruit complemented by mocha and spice. An earthy tinge evolves through the finish, yet the 2004 maintains fantastic freshness, tapering off with medium length as rosy floral perfumes linger on and on. There’s no reason to wait nor to rush; the 2004 is sitting at a plateau in its evolution.

Good full red-ruby. Slightly reduced aromas of blackberry, violet, and bitter chocolate, plus a whiff of menthol. The somewhat reductive palate offers dark flavors of cherry cola, berry skin and sweet spices in a rather muscular, modern way. Quite primary, almost like a barrel sample. Will this evolve in bottle and become more pliant?
