Note di degustazione
After a disappointing first bottle, richly fruity but with rotten, evolved flavours, we are more successful with the second. This seems good, though perhaps at an intermediate stage, neither young and fruity nor savoury and mature. The main fruit aroma and flavour is apple, with fresh acidity and firm tannins. Alcohol is highish, but acidity balances it well. This needs time. (CM)

The Beaune Clos des Ursules tastes rich, full, and well structured, yet has the wonderful opulence that marks this very special vintage. Jadot's 1985s are loaded with aromas and flavors of red fruits, are judiciously complemented by one-third new oak barrels, and have super color, thanks in part to a very high fermentation temperature of 35°-36° C.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
